Meeting Minutes (2017.10.14)

14:13

It is 2pm. Hurry up to Wendy’s venue, the show is about to start. 3, 2, 1, Camera! Welcome to YZU Toastmasters Show.

Bryant, our positive EVP, stood on the stage and introduced the welcome guests whom our audience must be very familiar with. Dave, the happiest bridegroom just finished his first honey travel. Lee-Wei, the powerful officer of Longtan Club visited YZU after a year in France. And his first mentee Justin, a new-born TM, was as friendly as Lee-Wei. Jim, the humorist TM in YZU and FENC clubs, was ready to make you laugh within five sentences. Tsu-Wen and Jane, they represented the diligent and active TM. You were eager to meet them at different clubs.

The spotlight turns to focus on the host--John Huang. He is going to sing “Had a Bad Day.” Excuse me, no pop song? My apologize. Correct it. John would like to have a BLUES “A Bad Hair Day.” His voice was steady and calm in such a rainy day. Then Wendy, Sheila, and Ivy followed up, showing their personal styles between the relaxing sessions.

Before the Words of the Day, YZU has the first Induction Ceremony in 2017 for the new member Robert Wang. According to his “last words” to choose YZU club, board game is a fatal thing. Via the oath under Bryant’s pop tempo, Robert became the youngest mentee of Hecate’s Gang.

Dear YZU audience, who is the most elegant lady in YZU? She walks to the stage in a fluttering long dress. That is Wendy.

The Words of the Day was very interesting. Wendy introduced 13 idioms related to bodies and easy-to-understandable. I strongly recommend all of our audience remembered it and used them to enrich the speeches.

As usual, Sheila always plays the good model of session preparation. Let’s see what surprise she will show us. Now you’re watching Sheila’s TV commercial.

We listed three products from the three temporal companies A, B, C. Their ideas would kick up your troubles and solve your problems which even you never met with. The line was full. Everyone wanted to purchase the products back. Right now, call us to explore your imagination.

The trumpet is playing. Ladies and gentlemen, please be seated. Our best actors are ready. Stop doing anything in your hands. Drumming the table, let’s watch speech session by Emily, Jane, and Hecate.

The speeches from manual Interpretive Reading was very seldom to listen to. Thanks for Emily brought these speeches to us. Reading is also a kind of performance. She picked up materials from the good selling novels. At A1 speech, she read one paragraph from In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom. This time, the second speech monodrama, Emily read Still Alice, a novel about Alzheimer. She added some emotions and act to guide audience enter into the stories. Both books were written by firs narration. If you want to realize more, come to join our meeting then go to the bookstore.

Next, Jane. Repeat after her with big smile, JANE~~, you would pronounce well. She was an amazing girl. She completed one speech per month. Travel was the hot word in her speeches. This Saturday, She told us the meaningful journey. She did not waste her Double Tenth holidays, she went to Sri Lanka to do a volunteer. If you love traveling, raise your hands and come to YZU. We’d love to invite Jane.

Look at that, a blue light over there. What is it? A mistrial SEAFOOD is approaching with cheering sounds. Hecate! Hecate! Hecate! Surrounded by strong power, she shows us the real supper power learned from….. And she….. I am silenced. Please accept our sincere apology. We will do the live broadcast on Oct. 21. Master Hecate will let you know the real power. Don’t forget to watch us at YZU campus.

Dessert time….thanks for Sheila’s fortune cookies, Hecate’s blessing rolls, and Justin’s handmade biscuits. Now all of us were energetic again.

There is a rainy day when there is a sunny day. Ivy, the table topic master full of wisdom, asked audience how to make the sun shine again in your rainy day. Her three brief questions could trigger thousands of answers. If we kept developing the questions, the session would be a good chat show.

The last session is evaluation. YZU program are very confident that no one can more handsome or lovely than our evaluators quoted from general evaluator—Mandy.

At this afternoon, evaluators were so kind that offering plenty of praises and suggestions to speakers before and after evaluation time.

YZU Toastmaster’s Show is near to the end. Appreciate for Rojer’s photo record, Wendy’s meeting room, Bryant and John’s arrangement, Bernie and Emily’s feedback cards, etc….thanks for all of your support. YZU club see you next time.
